Gender Euphoria
We hear so much about gender dysphoria, and the heartache and struggle, that can be associated with being trans, non-binary, or gender fluid, that we often don’t stop to reflect on the good.
And there certainly is good along with the bad. One example of the good are experiences of gender euphoria.
Gender euphoria happens when your gendered identity is finally seen and affirmed, either by others or through medical intervention.
Examples include, having others use the correct pronouns for the first time, wearing clothes that align with your gender, seeing yourself in the mirror presenting in a way that affirms your gender, and a myriad of other ways.
These are experiences that can often keep you going despite the obstacles, despite the fear, those moments are worth noting and celebrating.
