We sometimes do a disservice to tell survivors that those who’ve been abused are more likely to find themselves in an abusive relationship again.

This can make some folks feel helpless, or like there is some inherent flaw within them that abusers can see that makes them targets.

And this is not the case….

The truth is that abusers utilize the same tactics on everyone until they find the person who will tolerate their behavior.

This is not an inherent flaw within you if you have found yourself in this pattern.

You can learn newer and healthier boundaries, how to set them and stick to them.

You can learn the red flags and how to identify those who are toxic, manipulative, and aggressive.

You can learn to stop people pleasing.

It doesn’t have to be a life sentence.
