    Anxiety is the most common mental illness in the US. 

    Anxiety disorders include generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, agoraphobia and post traumatic stress disorder.

    It’s estimated that 19% of US adults had any anxiety disorder in the past year, with a higher prevalence among woman than men. Studies show higher rates among trans adults.

    An estimated 31% of U.S. adults experience any anxiety disorder at some time in their lives. Among adults with any anxiety disorder, an estimated 23% had serious impairment, and 34% had moderate impairment.

    According to the WHO, in the first year of COVID-19 there was a global increase in anxiety (and depression) of 25%.
