  • Loving Reminders

    Although I know that Valentine’s Day is a manufactured holiday, I am choosing to take the use it as an opportunity to send some loving reminders to some of you who might need them.

    Loving reminders for trans and non-binary folks:

    • You were born worthy of love and validation
    • You are worthy of love now
    • You are worthy of love and safety whether you choose to transition or not
    • You are worthy of love and loving relationships

    Loving reminders for those who experienced complex trauma and/or dissociative disorders:

    • You were born worthy of love, safety, nurturing and protection
    • You are worthy of love and acceptance regardless of what you’ve had to do to survive
    • You are worthy of love and connection even as you heal

    Loving reminders for those who experienced neglect and/or attachment wounding:

    • You were born worthy of love, safety, nurturing and protection from your family
    • Your family’s inability to provide those things is a reflection of their wounding and not of your worth

    Loving reminders for asexual and aromantic folks:

    • You were born worthy of love and acceptance by family, friends and society
    • You deserve to have your sexual and romantic orientation honored and not reduced to trauma
