  • On Healing

I find that sometimes clients are confused by what healing from a trauma might look like or mean for them.

Misunderstanding of what healing means can block the process of healing or resolving the trauma.

These misunderstandings might be that healing will mean that they are no longer upset or bothered by the memory, or that it will mean that they don’t care what happened to them.

A traumatic incident will always be associated with negative emotions, because it was a trauma. But once healing has happened, these negative emotions will not flood you, or overwhelm you, or derail your entire day.

Healing from a trauma also means that the memory won’t pop up unannounced anymore, it won’t shape the way you see yourself, your past, and the world in the same way anymore.
