  • Quote from Kate Golden

I am a big fan of fantasy books, partly because of the escapism, I mean, have you seen the world lately?

And yet, these books also speak to important themes in our world and offer the chance to develop and practice our empathy as we peak into the lived experience of others.

Recently I read Kate Golden’s A Promise of Peridot in which she writes, “There’s always something to fear. That’s the price of doing anything worth doing.”

I love this quote, because it speaks to what we are seeing in our present reality, of people taking to the streets despite fear to do the work that is worth doing.
