This is the truth. Only self-love and good decisions will rescue you. But if you’ve grown up in an abusive, neglectful, or toxic home environment where you did not learn how to love yourself or how to make good decisions, then where does you go to learn these things?
Sometimes we learn these things from others, if we get into a healthy relationship, if we start doing personal work on ourselves, reading self-help books, and taking care of ourselves physically. Sometimes we learn these things from connecting or reconnecting to a higher power. Often times if there has been chronic trauma and deprivation, getting into therapy is the best way to find out how to love yourself and how to make better decisions.
