LGBTQIA History Month

Did you know that October is LGBTQIA History Month?
The US has been observing LGBTQIA History Month since 1994. It was founded by a Missouri high school teacher named Rodney Wilson. The idea is to have a month-long celebration of LGBTQIA history and icons, many of whom we did not learn about growing up.
Visibility is important as it helps to normalize and offer others hope and knowledge about different ways of being in the world and helps reclaim some history from the ashes.
