Many of us are born into circumstances that we would not choose.

Each of us has the choices to stay and be defined by where we are born, who we are born to and the bodies we were born into.

And each of us can choose to move on, to change our way of looking at the world and our way of moving through it.

What matters most is what type of person you grow to be. If you are a good person and trying to do good in the world, this is what matters to me. Not whether your cis or trans, hetero or queer, black or white.

We need to learn to see our differences, but not be defined by them or to define others by them.

And I do not believe that we should excuse those who are unaccepting because they are from a different generation, or a different region, or a different religion. We can all grow beyond what we grow up in.
