I love this idea of being naked and proud no matter the scars.

Scars do not need to define us, nor do we need to hide them. They are evidence of things that have happened to us, and even more importantly they are evidence that we have healed and survived.

The purpose of EMDR therapy is to help put the past back in the past, so that those scars are just memories of something that happened, and not a trigger to relive and repeat.

The other thing about EMDR therapy is that it is based on the idea that under usual circumstances, the brain is geared to naturally heal itself. Traumatic experiences tend to get things stuck and the natural healing system gets interrupted. EMDR therapy helps to metaphorically clean out the wound so that the brain can heal itself.
