    Being told or admired for how strong you are can sometimes be a negative thing, and if you have felt that way you are not alone.

    That is because it can be a subtle way of being told that you don’t have the right to grieve or struggle.

    Your strength makes it easier on those around you to assume they do not need to help or offer support. It can be like telling the other person it is their job to be okay.

    Telling someone they are strong is not inherently wrong, but it is good to consider what message you intend to be giving them.

    Also, this is a friendly reminder that even the strong need support. And that just because you are strong enough to carry this burden doesn’t mean that you have to or that you have to do it alone.
