    Exercise is an important part of health and building resiliency.

    But so many people view it negatively. This has been reinforced by diet culture in the US. If you take in extra calories, you better work it off with more exercise. No wonder we are so reluctant to engage in it.

    If we talked about it in different language that might help. Exercise is a way of showing care to your body. It is a means of demonstrating to yourself that you matter and that you will take the time to care for yourself.

    If exercise is not part of your routine, don’t set yourself up for failure by setting unrealistic goals for yourself. You don’t have to plan to go hard core for 2 hours every day. It can be as simple as taking a walk around the block and doing this on a regular basis. Work it into your routine in manageable chunks.

    Your body is what carries your heart and your mind through this life, doesn’t it deserve to be well taken care of?
