I Support Transgender Troops!

I support our transgender troops. Banning transgender people from serving in the military is cruel and hateful. Transgender folks have just as much right to serve, and as has been pointed out elsewhere, the medical costs to the military for gender confirmation surgery and hormones is significantly less than what the military spends on Viagra. It feels like the same old recycled arguments that were used against LGB folks serving openly in the military. It makes no sense to me that in a time when the enlistment is at an all-time low and the military is lowering standards to allow more folks to join, that they would reject anyone is so bizarre to me. I pledge to continue to advocate and educate where I can around the civil rights issue of our time.
